A 32-year-old from Slippery Rock has died in Alaska. Candice Berner's body was found, Monday night, near an airstrip outside the village of Chignik Lake on the Alaska Peninsula, nearly 500 miles southwest of Anchorage. Alaska State Police and Fish & Game officials are investigating the possibility that wolves killed Berner. Berner worked as a traveling special education teacher with the Lake & Peninsula School District. Co-workers say Berner had gone for a run, which was her habit at the end of the day.
