Parents of a 2-year-old Cranberry Township girl filed a federal lawsuit against Target today after they claim a toy box severely injured their daughter last year. According to our news exchange partners at WPXI-TV, Laura and Eric Surman filed the suit against Target, saying a toy box they purchased led to several brain injuries for their then 18-month-old daughter, Camryn. The Surmans claim in the suit that the wicker toy box suddenly collapsed on little Camryn's neck on July 20th of last year. It happened just a week after the toy box was purchased. The Surmans say the lid of the trunk was defective, which caused it to suddenly collapse on Camryn, cutting off oxygen and blood supply to the brain. Camryn now has no use of her arms or legs and requires a tracheotomy tube to help her breathe, as well as round-the-clock nursing care.
