The Slippery Rock woman who died in Alaska this week was most likely killed by wolves.

That's the conclusion of the Alaska State Medical Examiner following the autopsy of 32-year-old Candice Berner.

The cause of Berner's death is listed as "multiple injuries due to animal maulings".

Berner's body was found in some woods near an airstrip outside the Alaska Peninsula village of Chignik Lake on Monday night. Berner had gone for a run after work and several ATV riders discovered her corpse.

Alaska State Police have closed their investigation into the death of Berner, a school teacher who moved to Alaska last year.
