One of Butler County’s largest parochial schools announced the beginning of a $4 million capital campaign yesterday.
Penn Christian Academy has raised almost half of the $1.2 million they say they’ll need to complete the first phase of an expansion project at their Penn Township campus on Airport Road. Ernie Rusich, chairman of the school’s board of directors, says the school is simply out of space.
The first phase will include the addition of four new classrooms in the existing building along West Airport Road. School officials are hoping to break ground this spring in time for the coming school year, but they won’t move forward until they raise the money. As of now the school is debt-free. Ruzich says if they don’t raise it, they may have to turn potential new students away…
Penn Christian Academy opened the Penn Township campus in 2002 after purchasing the former Penn Township High School building from the South Butler County School District.
